Johor bahru: Several temporary road closures and diversions around key intersections in the city have been implemented since Thursday to facilitate the EDL Expressway Interchange Upgrade Project involving the Inner Ring Road and Jalan Tebrau.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) stated that the closures and diversions involved two main locations, namely the Jalan Lingkaran Dalam/Jalan Tebrau intersection and the Jalan Lingkaran Dalam/Jalan Tun Abdul Razak intersection. Based on the traffic plan issued, the diversions affect traffic flow along Jalan Lingkaran Dalam from Dataran Bandaraya to Menara MBJB and the city center, as well as from Stulang Laut to Kota Tinggi.
IRDA advised road users to remain cautious when driving in the affected areas throughout the construction period. Members of the public with any inquiries on the traffic flow in the affected areas may contact the hotline at 013-399 8088 or visit the official Iskandar Malaysia Facebook page for further information. The contractor will continue to provide the latest updates should there be any changes involving the dates, timings, or affected areas. Therefore, road users are advised to plan their journeys in advance. The entire construction project is expected to be fully completed by September 30, 2028.
