Google Malaysia, MARA Partner To Drive AI In Education

According to BERNAMA News Agency, educational institutions must keep pace with technological advancements to produce graduates who are digitally literate, think critically and are well prepared to meet the challenges of future industries. Zahari Aziz emphasized the importance of using technologies such as Gemini, Google Classroom, NotebookLM and other applications under Google Workspace for Education Plus to enhance productivity and improve the effectiveness of teaching and learning.

The collaboration, led by Kolej Poly-Tech MARA Sdn Bhd (KPTMSB), involves the provision of 30,000 Google Workspace for Education Plus licences to Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM) and six Kolej Poly-Tech MARA campuses nationwide. This initiative is expected to significantly boost the digital capabilities of these institutions, preparing students for a technology-driven future.

Additionally, the partnership includes the establishment of a Centre of Excellence (CoE), the implementation of Google Career Certificates and the Google Cloud Career Launchpad, as well as AI training and Gemini certification. Google Malaysia will also fund 500 Google Professional Certificates for UPTM students to enhance graduates' employability in the digital economy.

The partnership reflects the shared commitment of MARA and Google Malaysia to developing digital talent and producing a generation that is prepared for the AI era. This initiative aligns with the nation's aspiration to enhance its competitiveness in the global digital economy, ensuring that Malaysian graduates are well-equipped for the challenges and opportunities of the future.
