PUTRAJAYA: The Prime Minister’s Department is set to host the Gema Syukur 2025 Programme at the Putra Mosque, Putrajaya, starting tomorrow evening. The event, which runs from 6 p.m. tomorrow until 9 a.m. Wednesday, aims to offer an enriching alternative for community engagement and is expected to attract over 1,000 students from various universities across the country.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), highlighted the program’s diverse offerings designed to enrich the mosque environment through beneficial activities. A key feature of the event is a special forum on “Fostering Unity and Da’wah Across Borders,” specifically arranged for international students. This will take place at the Putra Mosque Auditorium at 10:30 p.m. following the “International Quran Moment” session.
The New Year’s Eve segment of the Gema Syukur 2025 programme will include various activities such as a Yasin recitation, a session titled Gema Cinta Rasul with the Inteam nasyid group, Tadabbur Quran, the ‘Jerat Nafsu’ Podcast, and the Kira Detik 2025 countdown, culminating in a blessing prayer for the new year. Notably, the ‘Jerat Nafsu’ podcast will feature a panel of distinguished guests, including Dr Syed Shahridzan Syed Mohamed, Dr Ghafur Rahim Mustakim, and SAC Siti Kamsiah Hassan.
As the new year begins, attendees can participate in Qiamullail led by Syeikh Abdul Karim Omar al-Fatani al-Makki and engage in the ‘Demi Masa’ Forum. Mohd Na’im also announced that the program would extend support to 100 asnaf, who will receive RM200 cash donations, food baskets, and hygiene kits. Additionally, more than 15 free breakfast options will be available for attendees.
The programme offers a unique opportunity for visitors to win special prizes, including Gold Coins sponsored by the Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YAPEIM). Mohd Na’im emphasized that this initiative is a collaborative effort involving agencies under the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), alongside partners such as MAPIM, MyFundAction, and Du’at Al-Falah, with support from the Federal Territory Mosque and the Zakat Collection Centre (PPZ).
The event aims to express gratitude for the year’s blessings, foster community togetherness, and strengthen brotherhood among the local community. Additionally, it serves to motivate participants in setting new year resolutions and praying for the nation’s well-being.
