Teluk Intan: Six personnel from the Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) remain hospitalized following a road crash last Tuesday, with one individual having been discharged yesterday.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Perak Health Director Dr. Feisul Idzwan Mustapha provided updates on the condition of the injured personnel. Out of the six still receiving medical care, five are being treated at Teluk Intan Hospital (HTI), while one is at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) in Ipoh. Dr. Feisul Idzwan noted that four of the patients at HTI are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and one is in the Surgical Ward with improving health, potentially allowing for discharge soon.
The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, visited the families of the injured FRU personnel at the hospital earlier today. Dr. Feisul Idzwan also reported that the FRU member in the ICU at HRPB is beginning to regain consciousness and is making positive progress despite having sustained serious injuries.
In the tragic incident at 8:50 am last Tuesday, nine FRU members lost their lives, and nine others were injured when their truck collided with a gravel-laden lorry on Jalan Chikus-Sungai Lampam, Teluk Intan, as they were returning to their base in Sungai Senam.
