Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix Impresses Fans at Sepang

Sepang:Sepang Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim described the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit as a deeply meaningful memory for sports fans worldwide.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar expressed his appreciation in a Facebook post, highlighting the magnificent action delivered by all the drivers and teams, which made the race full of excitement and intense competition.

Anwar, alongside the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, presented trophies to the triumphant drivers and teams. He extended his congratulations to Max Verstappen, Kimi Antonelli, Lewis Hamilton, and the Red Bull Racing team for their achievements.

In July, F1 confirmed Malaysia as the host of the 2026 Gulf Air Bahrain GP from October 2 to 4, following an agreement between Formula 1, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), and the governments of Malaysia and Bahrain.

Despite the rain-soaked circuit, the enthusiasm in the grandstands remained undiminished, reflecting fans' eagerness after nine years of F1's absence from Malaysia.
