PAHANG: The flood situation in Pahang and Negeri Sembilan is improving, with fewer evacuees remaining at temporary relief centres (PPS) tonight. In PAHANG, state Civil Defence Force director Col (PA) Che Adam A Rahman reported a decrease in the number of evacuees to 49 from 12 families as of 8 pm. These evacuees are currently housed at the Sekolah Kebangsaan Lanchang PPS in Temerloh, which was opened earlier today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the floodwaters in Karak have receded, causing the overflow into Sungai Semantan and subsequently affecting Lanchang. This overflow necessitated the relocation of residents near the riverbanks to the PPS. Col Che Adam A Rahman also noted the closure of a PPS in Bentong, which had previously accommodated 140 evacuees from 47 families, as all evacuees were permitted to return home.
In NEGERI SEMBILAN, the number of evacuees has decreased to 84 people from 27 families, down from 101 individuals this morning. Jelebu District Civil Defence Officer Lt (PA) Mohd Najib Abdul Karim stated that all evacuees were from Ladang Jelebu, Taman Pekan Baru, Taman Bandar Tinggi, and Kampung Sepri. He confirmed that the weather is clear, floodwaters have receded, and post-flood cleaning efforts are 95 percent complete, with an expectation that all evacuees will be able to return home by tomorrow.
