FIFA To Summon FAM Sec-gen Over Alleged Document Forgery Case

Kuala lumpur: The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) will summon Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) secretary-general Datuk Noor Azman Rahman as part of its investigation into alleged document forgery involving seven national heritage players. Acting FAM president Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mahadi stated that the investigation aims to ascertain Noor Azman's role and level of involvement in the alleged forgery.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohd Yusoff mentioned that they have received an email from FIFA regarding the investigation. FIFA intends to gain a clearer understanding of the processes involving Noor Azman and the responsibilities he carried out. This was disclosed by Mohd Yusoff during a media conference following a special FAM Executive Committee (EXCO) meeting at Wisma FAM.

Mohd Yusoff further explained that Noor Azman will also be referred to FAM's Disciplinary Committee to determine his position. The Disciplinary Committee's decision will then be referred to the EXCO for a final determination on Noor Azman's status. The extent of the offence will dictate the severity of the penalties, with the EXCO making the ultimate decision.

In October, Noor Azman was suspended with immediate effect following an investigation by FIFA into the status of the seven Harimau Malaya heritage players.
