FAMA Sales Hit RM3.13 Mln At MAHA 2026

Kuala lumpur: The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) recorded RM3.13 million in sales as of today during the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2026 at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), here. FAMA chairman Abang Ahmad Kerdee Abang Masagus highlighted that the Kingdom of Agrofood contributed RM1,425,422.86 to the total sales, followed by Agribusiness at RM930,220.68, Food Empire at RM623,884, and Food Truck at RM152,476.70. He mentioned that FAMA's marketing platform not only served as a promotional and networking venue for industry players and entrepreneurs but also positively impacted the economy.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, although FAMA's target is RM4 million, the sales achieved thus far have exceeded the figures recorded in 2024. Abang Ahmad Kerdee acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the 2,000 entrepreneurs who participated in MAHA, including 349 entrepreneurs under FAMA, which contributed to this achievement. He expressed gratitude during the closing ceremony of the International Conference on Agribusiness Marketing (i-CAM 2026).

Meanwhile, Abang Ahmad Kerdee noted that FAMA continued to enhance knowledge sharing and strategic networking in the agri-food sector through a podcast session themed 'Transformasi Perniagaan Tani dalam Menangani Keterjaminan Makanan: Perspektif dan Pendekatan Global', held alongside MAHA 2026. The theme was focused on transforming the agribusiness sector to tackle food security challenges through innovation, technology, value chain development, and strategic cooperation between the government and industry.

He emphasized the importance of not letting the discussions over the past two days remain theoretical but to use them as a catalyst for collective action. Abang Ahmad Kerdee stated that the podcast session complemented the academic presentations at i-CAM 2026 by offering a more relaxed, interactive, and accessible platform for discussion and knowledge sharing.

He also pointed out that the theme was particularly pertinent to the current agri-food sector, which is facing challenges such as climate change, market uncertainty, food safety issues, and evolving consumer demand. The podcast session featured Deputy Secretary-General (Development) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM) Datuk Luqman Ahmad, alongside industry players Azwan Arif of Ayam Bismi Sdn Bhd and Low Wei Han of Green World Genetics Sdn Bhd.

MAHA is a biennial event that gathers industry players, government agencies, entrepreneurs, as well as research and higher education institutions, and serves as a crucial platform to showcase innovation, technology, and business opportunities in the agri-food sector.
