ICW- BuildXpo Malaysia 2026 Targets RM1.5 Bln Trade Value

Kuala lumpur: International Construction Week (ICW) and BuildXpo Malaysia 2026 is targeting 17,000 trade visitors as well as 250 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions with RM1.5 billion in projected trade value, when it returns in November. Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia (CIDB) chief executive Ahmad Farrin Mokhtar said the targets were higher from last year's event, which attracted 15,000 trade visitors, 210 exhibitors from 11 countries, and RM1.4 billion in projected business transactions.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Farrin stated that the aim for this year's event is to surpass previous achievements. With the theme 'Beyond Limits', the event is designed to challenge boundaries and enhance the industry's capabilities. The three-day event, scheduled from November 10 to 12 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), will feature an expanded programme of conferences, exhibitions, and industry activities.

Now in its 28th edition, ICW will be held in conjunction with the fourth edition of BuildXpo Malaysia, marking the first-ever co-location of Glasstech Asia and Fenestration Asia (GAFA) 2026. Ahmad Farrin emphasized that ICW, which has been organized since 1999, serves as a crucial platform for industry players to gain exposure to new technologies and methods, particularly as the construction sector increasingly embraces digitalisation.

The programme will include the AsiaConstruct Conference, BAMBUilds'26 Talk and Dialogue, Global Opportunities Seminar, Impact Change Through Construction (ICTC) Conference, and Sustainability Roundtable. Additionally, The Build Series will offer technical insights, innovation showcases, and thought leadership discussions. New features such as Build ProPass and Build360 are set to enhance the visitor experience by integrating conferences, exhibitions, business opportunities, and professional development activities.

The co-location of GAFA with ICW and BuildXpo Malaysia will introduce specialized expertise in glass, facades, and building envelope technologies into the broader construction ecosystem. GAFA is set to attract more than 250 exhibitors and 5,000 visitors, with participation from 50 countries and regions, 300 international hosted buyers, and 50 speakers.

Additional activities include QUEST Day 2026, technical visits to significant architectural sites, and competitions such as the CIDB-CLPM-ISOSB 2nd ASEAN Crane Lifting Planning Competition and MSSA Open Ideas Competition.
