Cheras: An elderly man narrowly escaped death when his car plunged from the third-floor parking lot of an apartment here after he accidentally stepped on the accelerator while parking. Cheras District police chief ACP Aidil Bolhassan reported that the incident took place at 2.45 pm yesterday. The 78-year-old man was driving a Proton Saga when it crashed into a wall on the third-floor parking of Pangsapuri Sri Malaysia, causing the vehicle to plunge.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the elderly man sustained minor injuries and was transported to Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM) for further treatment. The building management has closed the area for immediate repairs following the incident.
A video capturing the event, which shows the car plunging from the parking structure and bystanders rushing to assist the driver, has gained significant attention on social media.
