Kuala Lumpur:Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Dr Johari Abdul received the resignation letter from Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung on October 2, as announced in the Dewan Rakyat today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Seri Dr Ramli Mohd Nor confirmed this at the beginning of the Third Meeting of the Fifth Session of the 15th Parliament. The Speaker has notified the Election Commission about the vacancy in the parliamentary seat, following Article 54(1) of the Federal Constitution.

On October 2, Lee Chean Chung announced his unconditional resignation from his position as MP.

Additionally, Ramli mentioned that a Parliamentary Service Council would be formed to manage issues related to parliamentary services, following the implementation of the Parliamentary Service Act 2025 on October 1.
