Gold Futures Decline on Bursa Malaysia Despite COMEX Gains

Kuala Lampur:Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives concluded Monday's trading session with lower values, even as gold prices rose on the US Commodity Exchange (COMEX).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the October 2026 spot-month contract decreased to US$4,178.40 per troy ounce from its previous value of US$4,216.10. Similarly, the November 2026 contract fell to US$4,195.40 from US$4,232.80.

Further declines were observed in the December 2026 contract, which dropped to US$4,212.00 per troy ounce from US$4,232.80. The January, February, and April 2027 contracts also decreased to US$4,212.00 from their previous levels of US$4,232.80.

The trading volume on the exchange increased to 161 lots from 144 on Friday, and open interest rose to 228 contracts from 212.

Meanwhile, physical gold was set at US$4,190.05 per troy ounce during the London Bullion Market Association's afternoon fix on October 2.
