Cyclist Killed In Suspected Hit-And-Run Incident Along Jalan Stutong

Kuching: A male cyclist was killed in a suspected hit-and-run incident along Jalan Stutong early this morning. Kuching district police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu reported that they received a report about the incident at about 5.43 am.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, preliminary investigations revealed that the man, aged 56, was cycling when he was hit from behind by a vehicle of an unidentified registration and model. The cyclist suffered severe injuries to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene at 6.30 am by a Sarawak Hospital medical officer.

The police are currently tracking down the suspect involved in the hit-and-run incident. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Authorities have urged anyone with information about the incident to contact traffic investigating officer, Insp Russell Stetson Junner, at 013-8578 601 or 082-259900, or to reach out to the nearest police station.
