No-confidence Claims Against Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Dismissed by UMNO President

Kuala lumpur: UMNO president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has described claims of a loss of confidence in Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun by three state UMNO wings as merely personal opinions. The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that Barisan Nasional's (BN) support for the current administration under the Unity Government is an official party decision that must be respected by all members.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid stated, "The issue of no confidence is their personal view, but we remain confident that BN assemblymen's participation in the Negeri Sembilan Unity Government is a party decision that must be upheld," during a press conference following the 2026 Bumiputera Education Congress. His comments were in response to reports that the state's UMNO Youth, Wanita, and Puteri wings expressed a lack of confidence in Aminuddin's leadership.

Earlier, media reports had indicated that the three UMNO wings accused the Menteri Besar of failing to address several state issues, particularly those concerning traditional institutions, which allegedly disrupted administrative harmony. Despite these allegations, Ahmad Zahid emphasized that the party's primary focus is maintaining political stability under the Unity Government, reflecting decisions made at the highest party levels.
