CPC Identifies Key Areas for Anti-Corruption Focus

Beijing:The Communist Party of China (CPC) has delineated four primary areas of attention in its ongoing anti-corruption campaign. This decision follows the adoption of a resolution by the CPC Central Committee on comprehensive and rigorous Party self-governance.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the resolution was approved during the fifth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC, which took place recently in Beijing. A communique released after the session emphasized the historic achievements and transformations resulting from efforts to enhance Party self-governance.

Zhang Fuhai, Deputy Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CPC, stated at a press conference that the Party intends to intensify its crackdown on corruption, especially in sectors with concentrated power and significant resources. The focus will be on cases where political and economic interests are intertwined, on collusion between officials and businesses, and on the infiltration of political arenas by capital.

Additionally, Zhang highlighted the importance of identifying new and hidden forms of corruption and regularly addressing misconduct impacting individuals at the grassroots level. Since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, discipline inspection and supervisory bodies across the nation have filed 8.105 million cases and punished 7.922 million individuals.

Recent investigations by China's top anti-corruption authorities revealed that improper dining and drinking constituted 18.2 percent of hedonism and extravagance-related violations in September. Furthermore, Huang Jianfa, Deputy Head of the CPC Central Committee Organization Department, noted that the Party encompasses more than 100 million members and over 5.4 million primary-level organizations, with five priorities set for managing officials, from selection criteria to enhancing their performance capabilities.
