Cooperation Between State and Parliamentary Representatives Crucial for Lamag Development, Says Mohd Ismail

Kampung sungai lokan: Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Lamag state by-election, Mohd Ismail Ayob, emphasized the importance of close collaboration between state and parliamentary elected representatives in addressing basic infrastructure challenges faced by the Lamag constituency residents. He believes that such a partnership is essential for channeling allocations efficiently and ensuring the area's continuous development.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohd Ismail urged voters to support government party candidates in the upcoming by-election for the Lamag state seat and the Kinabatangan parliamentary seat. He stressed that electing government party candidates would help effectively convey the people's voices to the State Assembly and Parliament, particularly in addressing pressing housing issues.

Mohd Ismail highlighted the importance of supporting the BN candidate for the Kinabatangan parliamentary seat, Mohd Kurniawan Naim Moktar. During a community program with Lamag constituents in Kampung Sungai Lokan, he assured villagers that efforts to provide a clean water supply, currently reliant on rainwater harvesting, would be realized within the next five years.

In addition, Telupid assemblyman Datuk Jonnybone J. Kurum, also Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) Youth chief, cautioned voters against electing an opposition representative, stating it could result in significant losses for Lamag. He urged voters to support the BN candidate to ensure development continuity and the execution of planned initiatives.

The Kinabatangan parliamentary by-election is a three-way contest involving Mohd Kurniawan Naim, Warisan candidate Datuk Saddi Abdul Rahman, and independent candidate Goldam Hamid. Meanwhile, the Lamag state by-election will see a straight fight between Mohd Ismail and Warisan's Mazliwati Abdul Malek. Both by-elections were necessitated by the death of the incumbent, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, on December 5 last year. The Election Commission has scheduled tomorrow for early voting, with the polling day set for this Saturday.
