Putrajaya:The Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026, blending Malaysia's vibrant cultural arts with the excitement of motorsport, officially commenced today and will run until October 4.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the festival is taking place at three key venues: IOI City Mall Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1, and Sama-Sama Hotel KLIA. Tourism Malaysia highlighted that by hosting this large-scale event in diverse locations such as a shopping center, an international airport, and a hotel, the festival introduces a novel approach to promoting Malaysia as part of the Visit Malaysia 2026-2027 campaign.
This innovative event aims to provide visitors with a new cultural experience while boosting the local economy, particularly by supporting the tourism, retail, hospitality, and creative sectors. At IOI City Mall Putrajaya, the festival is divided into four main zones. Zone A, known as Colours of Speed, includes an interactive Simulator Competition. Zone B features booths with tourism and cultural information from Tourism Malaysia, Tourism Selangor, and the Sepang Municipal Council.
Zone C, called Colours of Art and Culture, presents 14 interactive stations with traditional arts and crafts and live cultural performances. Zone D, the Colours of Parade, offers cultural performances, virtual reality elements, and meet-and-greet sessions with festival mascots Wira and Manja.
Visitors to KLIA Terminal 1 and Sama-Sama Hotel KLIA can enjoy cultural dance performances, automotive exhibitions, traditional games like gasing and congkak, and racing simulator sessions. Guests staying at Sama-Sama Hotel will receive specially designed Citrawarna Speed Festival edition room key cards.
The festival's highlight, the 'Colours of Parade,' is scheduled for October 3 at 8:30 pm at IOI City Mall Putrajaya, featuring 1,500 cultural dancers and performers. This parade aims to display the diversity and unity of the Malaysian community through traditional music, dance, vibrant costumes, and cultural expressions.
The festival will conclude on October 4 with a Lamborghini Activation event, gathering approximately 100 high-performance supercars.
