Cabinet Ministers Offer Condolences to PM Anwar Over Brother’s Passing

Bukit Mertajam:Several Cabinet ministers have extended their condolences to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his family following the death of his elder brother, Idrus Ibrahim, who passed away at the age of 83 at his residence in Cheruk Tokkun at about 5.30 pm yesterday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu expressed the pain of losing a brother and prayed for Allah's forgiveness and mercy for the deceased. Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo also conveyed his sadness over the loss, empathizing with the grief Anwar is experiencing.

Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek remembered Idrus as a wise and experienced veteran who often emphasized the importance of values in politics. She recounted how her visits to him were always enlightening, filled with advice and sometimes sharp criticism meant to guide the political struggle in the right direction.

Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan offered his condolences, praying for strength and peace for Anwar's family. Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Steven Sim paid tribute to Idrus as a firm and principled educator who played a significant role in his early political career.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail highlighted the profound loss of an elder brother who shared numerous life experiences with Anwar. He prayed for Allah's forgiveness and mercy on Idrus's soul.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan shared his fond memories of meeting Idrus, recalling the warm welcome and stories of struggle he shared, including those of Prime Minister Anwar. Dr Zulkifli extended his condolences and prayers for Idrus.
