Bayan Baru:Residents in Bayan Baru are bracing for traffic congestion as construction of the LRT Mutiara Line begins, acknowledging the necessity of the project to alleviate the area's increasing traffic problems. This sentiment was shared by Bayan Baru Member of Parliament, Sim Tze Tzin.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, approximately 40 percent of the LRT's route and stations will be situated within the Bayan Baru parliamentary constituency, leading to significant construction activities. Despite the anticipated congestion, many residents have expressed their willingness to endure the inconvenience, understanding the long-term benefits of the project.
Sim, also serving as the Deputy Investment, Trade and Industry Minister, addressed concerns about severe traffic congestion due to construction-related road restrictions. He assured that local authorities are committed to maintaining a "no road closure" policy, keeping roads partially open to reduce disruption.
The completion of the LRT Mutiara Line is expected to help ease traffic congestion, though it may not completely solve the issue. The area's rapid development and influx of high-value investments, particularly in the Free Industrial Zone, have attracted more people seeking employment, contributing to increased traffic in Bayan Baru.
