Kuala Lumpur:The artificial intelligence-based coding platform ILMUcode is slated for expansion to additional higher education institutions to support teaching, learning, and research efforts. This initiative was announced by Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr. Zambry highlighted that the platform, developed by YTL AI Labs, aims to equip students with digital skills and foster innovation from the start of their academic journey. The initial phase of the project offers free access to nearly 800 new students at the Universiti Malaya's Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology.
Dr. Zambry emphasized the significance of collaborations between universities and industry, noting that such partnerships are crucial for developing talent capable of technological innovation and problem-solving. He expressed these views in a Facebook post marking the platform's launch.
The minister also pointed out the extensive opportunities created by the AI boom, urging students to be bold in their pursuit of ideas and to responsibly master technology to ensure its benefits are shared with society. ILMUcode, the first AI-based coding platform introduced at Universiti Malaya, provides developers and students with access to advanced coding capabilities at a reduced cost.
