Anwar Vows To Intensify Hardcore Poverty Eradication Efforts

Kuala Lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has reaffirmed that efforts to eradicate hardcore poverty will be intensified and pursued more aggressively nationwide. In a Facebook post, Anwar emphasized the government’s commitment to enabling more people to break free from poverty and enjoy a better quality of life.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar described poverty as not merely an economic issue but also a matter of dignity and social justice. He emphasized that the MADANI government would not remain passive while citizens continued to be burdened by poverty. The government aims to implement comprehensive policies, targeted assistance programs, and integrated grassroots efforts to ensure that those genuinely in need receive help and opportunities to escape poverty.

As part of these efforts, Anwar highlighted that his Political Secretary, Datuk Ahmad Farhan Fauzi, delivered aid to families in need across three state constituencies under the Permatang Pauh parliamentary constituency: Seberang Jaya, Penanti, and Permatang Pasir. Anwar noted that 221 families have successfully risen out of hardcore poverty, serving as tangible proof of the MADANI Government’s effective initiatives.

Anwar further elaborated that the initiative is focused not only on providing temporary aid but also on ensuring that every family can become self-reliant, secure better employment, and improve their standard of living. He called on the private sector, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and concerned individuals to collaborate in this effort, asserting that a strong spirit of solidarity would help Malaysia become a more just and prosperous nation for all.
