Penang: Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia Bhd (ANGKASA) has extended a RM100,000 sponsorship to Koperasi LLM Bhd for the ASEAN Cultural Night Run @ Penang 2nd Bridge (ACNR2025). The sponsorship was officially handed over by ANGKASA president Datuk Seri Dr Abdul Fattah Abdullah to Koperasi LLM Berhad chairman Datuk Idrus Mat Tais, in a ceremony witnessed by the Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development, Datuk Ewon Benedick.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, ACNR2025 is scheduled to take place on August 16 at the Penang 2nd Bridge, also known as the Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah Bridge. The event is expected to gather over 3,000 participants, including cooperative members from Malaysia and other ASEAN countries.

ANGKASA noted that the programme is aligned with the celebration of the International Year of Cooperatives 2025 (IYC2025) and aims to commemorate Malaysia’s chairmanship of ASEAN for the year. The organisation of ACNR2025 is seen as a platform to bolster cooperation among ASEAN cooperatives and position Malaysia as a central hub for a forward-looking cooperative movement.

The night event offers participants a chance to enjoy the scenic views of the Second Penang Bridge. Participants are encouraged to don traditional attire, reflecting the cultural richness and harmony of Malaysian society. The event includes a 5-kilometre Fun Run and a 10km Competitive Run with categories for both men and women, veterans, and children.

Additionally, a 21-kilometre Competitive Run will be available, divided into categories for Open Men, Open Women, Veteran Men, and Veteran Women. The event will also feature exhibitions, sales booths, and lucky draws to engage attendees beyond the races.
