Amova Asset Management Expands Global Investment Offerings for Malaysian Clients

Baku:Amova Asset Management Co Ltd (Amova AM) has announced plans to introduce global investment products specifically tailored for Malaysian clients, complementing the offerings of AHAM Asset Management Bhd (AHAM Capital).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Amova AM, a global asset manager based in Japan, has recently acquired a 97.67% stake in AHAM Capital. Stefanie Drews, the president and CEO of Amova AM, revealed plans to make further investments in AHAM Capital by establishing a global solutions centre. This centre aims to house solutions necessary for expanding Amova AM's global business operations.

Drews mentioned that the company is focusing on sharing technologies and approaches related to artificial intelligence, online platforms, and product offerings with AHAM Capital. This was discussed during a media engagement and networking session with AHAM Capital fund managers.

Having completed the acquisition of an additional 77.67% equity interest in AHAM Capital on June 30, 2026, Amova AM has raised its ownership in the Malaysian asset manager to 97.67%. Esther Teo, AHAM Capital's deputy managing director and chief fixed income officer, indicated that the company plans to leverage Amova AM's investment capabilities to enhance its own investment expertise, focusing on collaboration in building capabilities and introducing new products and investment solutions.

Teo emphasized the company's goal to grow its wealth management business, particularly targeting high-net-worth individuals, while maintaining services to corporate, mass-affluent, and retail market segments through various distribution channels. AHAM Capital currently manages assets amounting to RM38 billion for the corporate segment and about RM12 billion in wealth assets for high-net-worth individuals.

Since its establishment in 2001, AHAM Capital has been serving the investment needs of corporates, institutions, pension funds, high-net-worth individuals, and retail investors with solutions across equities, fixed income, multi-asset, and alternative investments. As of August 31, 2026, AHAM Capital and its subsidiaries managed RM112 billion in assets under management across both conventional and shariah-compliant strategies.
