Amanah to Contest Eight Seats in Melaka State Election

Melaka:Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) President Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu announced that Amanah has been allocated eight State Legislative Assembly seats to contest in the upcoming Melaka State Election.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamad Sabu, who also serves as the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, explained that the seat distribution resulted from discussions at the Pakatan Harapan (PH) level. However, the final decision on the allocation will be made by the PH Presidential Council.

He stated that while the party has been allocated eight seats, the contesting model is yet to be finalized. The decision will be concluded and announced by the PH Presidential Council on October 24.

Mohamad also indicated that the final number of seats Amanah will contest might change, considering its involvement in broader collaborations that are still under negotiation.

The Election Commission has set October 31 as the nomination date for the Melaka state election. Early voting is scheduled for November 10, with the main polling day on November 14, following the dissolution of the State Assembly on September 23.
