GRS Convention in Kudat to Host 3,000 Delegates

Kudat:Around 3,000 delegates and observers from 26 parliamentary constituencies in Sabah and Labuan are scheduled to attend the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) Convention 2026 at Dewan Tun Mustapha, Kudat, this Sunday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, GRS secretary-general Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali stated that Kudat was selected as the inaugural venue for the coalition's convention based on the Supreme Council's decision to rotate such events to districts outside the state capital, considering logistical factors.

The convention aims to unite central and key division leaders, focusing on a two-pronged approach to set political strategies and focus areas for strengthening the coalition's readiness for the 16th General Election (GE16). It will also assess progress in state and socio-economic development through the GRS Manifesto and the Sabah Maju Jaya Roadmap.

Key highlights of the convention include a keynote address by GRS chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and sharing sessions with six deputy chairmen, representing the top leadership of each component party in the coalition. An online channel has been set up by the GRS Headquarters Secretariat for grassroots leaders unable to attend in person to submit their views and feedback.

GRS is composed of six component parties Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS), Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah (PHRS), Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS), and United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (UPKO).
