Kuala lumpur: The Credit Counselling and Debt Management Agency (AKPK) brought a unique interpretation of true independence through its participation in the 2025 National Day parade today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, AKPK stated that its decorated float was more than just a moving display, but a visual manifestation of the agency’s slogan, ‘AKPK, Your Reliable Financial Partner’. The float’s front featured a symbolic ‘tree of life’, with each branch representing key aspects of financial wellbeing such as income, spending, loans, investments, protection, and retirement.
The statement highlighted that the tree reflects the idea that wise financial management is the foundation of a stable and resilient life, essential for financial wellbeing. The slogan at the front embodies AKPK’s role as a faithful listener and empathetic guide, recognizing that financial challenges are a human issue requiring a holistic approach.
The back of the float showcased colorful tower blocks displaying AKPK’s services alongside bank logos within its cluster, symbolizing a strong financial ecosystem for the people’s well-being. Its side panels highlighted AKPK’s philosophy, from ‘nurturing financial discipline from a young age’ to ‘enjoying wellbeing in retirement.’
According to AKPK, this reflects its commitment to ensuring financial independence for all generations-from students and young professionals to working adults building families and retirees seeking comfort in their golden years.
‘In line with the Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni spirit, AKPK implements its Three Financial Therapies. First, financial education delivered to communities, workplaces, and schools equips people with practical knowledge to manage their cash flow, build realistic budgets, and spend wisely. Second, free financial advisory services are provided through conducive one-on-one sessions, carefully analyzing financial situations and offering tailored solutions at no cost. Third, the Debt Management Programme (PPK) acts as a lifeline for those facing serious debt problems, helping them avoid bankruptcy through holistic debt restructuring,’ it said.
AKPK chief executive officer Azaddin Ngah Tasir added that the most valuable legacy for the nation was not material wealth but a financially literate generation. ‘For AKPK, true independence means the people have the discipline and confidence to take control of their financial future. This is what we mean by ‘Financial Independence’,’ he said.
The statement added that AKPK remained committed to empowering all levels of society to chart their financial future wisely.
