Lundu: Air Borneo, the state-owned airline of Sarawak, is finalising its branding, which includes developing a logo that will soon be subject to a public competition. Sarawak Transport Minister Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin said the airline will officially adopt its name once the transition process is fully completed.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the transition to Air Borneo is expected to take some time, and a formal announcement will be made once everything is in place. The minister mentioned that upcoming meetings with the Malaysian Aviation Group and MASwings management aim to discuss further steps in the airline’s development. These discussions took place during a press conference after Lee’s visit to the Aerospace Academy at Centexs Lundu.
Lee also noted that the maintenance bay for MASwings remains in Kota Kinabalu, with discussions ongoing regarding its future plans. In a move that invites public engagement, the logo competition will soon be launched, allowing the public to contribute to the airline’s identity. The Unit Komunikasi Awam Sarawak is expected to release an official statement inviting the public to participate in the logo design competition, encouraging community involvement in shaping the new face of Air Borneo.
