Kuala Lumpur: Local agencies and companies are beginning to adopt artificial intelligence (AI) as part of their digital transformation journey, according to NEC Corporation of Malaysia Sdn Bhd (NEC Malaysia).
According to BERNAMA News Agency, managing director Wataru Irie stated that the company is currently providing technology solutions to clients from various sectors, including government, telecommunications, and retail companies. “We also work with them to modernise the infrastructure, as some systems are quite out,” he noted, adding that this process requires a safe and stable migration from existing systems to new ones, which takes time. Irie made these remarks at a press conference following a media tour of the company’s Customer Experience Centre.
NEC Malaysia’s general manager of business units, Chan Chern Pong, acknowledged that assisting companies in adopting new technologies can be challenging due to each enterprise’s unique requirements. However, he emphasized that NEC’s long-standing presence in the ASEAN region-spanning over 60 years-combined with access to a global pool of experts, including those based in Malaysia, provides the company with a distinct advantage in addressing these challenges.
“We can leverage resources within the region or globally, tapping into their knowledge on how they have integrated similar platforms in their projects,” Chan said. He further mentioned that NEC has built a valuable database, enabling the company to offer strong technical and commercial proposals to its clients.
NEC Malaysia, a subsidiary of NEC Corporation, is recognized globally as a leader in digital transformation, with 125 years of technological innovations. The company also specializes in smart connectivity, public safety, managed services, retail and manufacturing applications, infrastructure, internet protocol (IP) networks, cybersecurity, and multimedia platforms.
