ACCCIM’s Consistent Participation at CIIE Celebrated by Ahmad Zahid

Kuala lumpur: Malaysia’s presence at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) through the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia’s (ACCCIM) participation is something to be proud of, according to Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted that the ACCCIM Pavilion is the sole consistent participation by Malaysia at the expo for eight consecutive years and was recognized as one of the 30 most influential pavilions in the seventh edition last year. This year, the ACCCIM Pavilion focuses on food and agricultural products, featuring 29 exhibition spaces, 83 participating companies, and 80 business delegates, bringing the total number of participants from Malaysia to 169.

Ahmad Zahid, who also serves as the Rural and Regional Development Minister, stated that ACCCIM’s participation opens new opportunities for Malaysian small and medium enterprises, especially in the halal, agrifood, food technology, and premium rural product sectors, to enter high-impact export markets. This participation reflects the robust trade and investment ties between Malaysia and China.

He emphasized that this effort aligns with the government’s goal to strengthen the rural export ecosystem through high-quality products, in line with the Rural Development Policy (DPLB) 2030. The initiative also supports the agenda to urbanize rural areas under the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development, encouraging rural entrepreneurs’ involvement in the global value chain. Ahmad Zahid congratulated ACCCIM, with the support of the Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry and the Malaysian Embassy in Beijing, for their efforts in promoting Malaysian products and brands in the Chinese market.

Additionally, Ahmad Zahid inaugurated the launch of the Port Klang Free Zone’s (PKFZ) China branch office at the PKFZ Pavilion in conjunction with CIIE 2025. He noted that this initiative represents Malaysia’s strategic move to bolster trade relations, investments, and logistics between the two countries, enhancing Port Klang’s standing as a major gateway and competitive regional maritime hub globally.

He affirmed that PKFZ’s ongoing commitment to expanding cross-border logistics and port cooperation facilitates Malaysia-China bilateral trade flows and advances digital transformation and sustainability in the regional logistics sector. He expressed confidence that the efforts by ACCCIM and PKFZ would not only strengthen Malaysia’s global brand presence but also attract high-value investments, expand the regional logistics chain and hub, and serve as a catalyst for rural economic development, in line with the MADANI Government’s vision and DPLB 2030.

Earlier, Ahmad Zahid officiated the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS)@Shanghai at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre (NECC). In a Facebook post, he mentioned visiting MIHAS@Shanghai exhibition booths showcasing various local halal products, including those by Bumiputera entrepreneurs. He expressed pride in seeing Malaysian brands represented internationally through trusted and competitive halal products and interacted with representatives from ministries, agencies, state governments, and Bumiputera companies participating in MIHAS.

Ahmad Zahid expressed hope that entrepreneurs participating in MIHAS@Shanghai 2025 will harness this opportunity to enhance business networking and explore new market avenues in the region. He added that continuous efforts would further solidify Malaysia’s position as a leading global halal industry hub, ensuring that ‘Halal Malaysia’ remains trusted and respected worldwide.
