31 Areas Record Unhealthy Air Quality Levels

Serian:A total of 31 areas across the nation recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 9 am today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal reported specific locations with high API levels. Notably, the Serian Police headquarters in Sarawak recorded an API of 175, while Pasir Gudang and Larkin in Johor registered 170 and 169, respectively. Bandaraya Melaka showed an API of 166, followed by Nilai in Negeri Sembilan at 165, Johan Setia in Selangor at 163, and Batu Muda in the capital at 114.

The report also indicated that 30 areas experienced a moderate API reading, whereas seven areas enjoyed good air quality. An API reading of 0 to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 is moderate, 101 to 200 is unhealthy, 201 to 300 is very unhealthy, and 300 and above is considered hazardous.
