Kota bharu: The Public Works Department (JKR) has identified 29 federal roads across nine districts in Kelantan that necessitate urgent maintenance. These districts include Kota Bharu, Machang, Pasir Puteh, Pasir Mas, Tanah Merah, Tumpat, Jeli, Bachok, and Gua Musang.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kelantan JKR director Nik Badlihisham Nik Ismail stated that the roads require maintenance due to damage caused by heavy rain from the northeast monsoon. In Gua Musang, seven roads have been listed for maintenance, such as FT484 Jalan Kuala Betis and FT185 Jalan Gua Musang-Lojing, among others.

In Kota Bharu, six roads, including FT3 Jalan Pasir Puteh-Kota Bharu and FT130 Jalan Wakaf Che Yeh-Salor-Pasir Mas, are in need of repairs. Nik Badlihisham further elaborated that in Jeli, roads like FT4 Jalan Gerik-Jeli and FT66 Jalan Sungai Sam-Jeli are identified for maintenance. Tanah Merah includes roads such as FT199 Jalan Batu Gajah-Lawang and FT259 Jalan Sultan Ismail Petra.

Other roads requiring attention are located in Machang, Pasir Puteh, Tumpat, Pasir Mas, and Bachok. Nik Badlihisham emphasized that the Kelantan JKR is in consultation with the Works Ministry to plan the maintenance work and ascertain the financial implications.

He also urged motorists to proceed with caution on these damaged roads and adhere to the warning signs placed in affected areas.
