Kota bharu: A total of 200 players are expected to take part in the 48th Kelantan Amateur Golf Open Championship, which will be held at the Kelantan Golf and Country Club (KGCC) in Pengkalan Chepa here from July 26 to 28.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, State Tourism, Culture, Arts and Heritage Committee chairman Datuk Kamarudin Md Nor stated that the tournament serves as a platform to promote the state’s tourism sector, particularly to players from outside Kelantan.
Kamarudin noted that although the tournament is small in scale, it plays a significant role in showcasing local tourism products. He made these remarks at a press conference held at KGCC.
He mentioned that the prizes for the tournament include a Perodua car, an e-bicycle, Garmin and Huawei golf watches, and RM5,000 in cash.
Additionally, Kamarudin expressed hope that the players would act as “mini ambassadors” to promote the state’s tourism to their peers after the tournament.
