Kuala lumpur: Malaysians aged 18 to 30 can access three months of free ILMUchat Pro, a home-grown artificial intelligence (AI) assistant, starting today in conjunction with the country's 69th Independence Day.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, YTL AI Labs announced that the initiative is being offered under the Ministry of Digital's AI Untuk Rakyat programme. This collaboration involves YTL AI Labs and MyDIGITAL Corporation via the Rakyat Digital platform. The initiative aims to reach 100,000 Malaysians within the specified age group, requiring them to complete designated AI learning modules on Rakyat Digital before they can claim the offer, which is typically priced at RM50 per month.

ILMUchat Pro, developed by YTL AI Labs, is tailored to the way Malaysians communicate, incorporating natural language switching between Bahasa Malaysia, English, Chinese, and Manglish. The AI assistant supports everyday, educational, and professional tasks such as drafting emails and letters, finding local services and businesses, creating posters and graphics, generating slide decks, and developing working app prototypes without coding.

The service also provides higher usage limits, enabling users to utilize AI for their studies, work, and daily needs, including queries related to PTPTN repayments, SME grant applications, and job applications. YTL AI Labs chief executive officer Foong Chee Mun expressed pride in supporting the government's ambition to position Malaysia as a leading AI nation. "We look forward to empowering this generation not just to use AI, but to become the builders and contributors who define Malaysia's AI future," he stated.

The programme was unveiled by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in July during the launch of AI Malaysia in Cyberjaya, alongside the National AI Action Plan 2026-2030. To redeem the offer, eligible Malaysians can log in to Rakyat Digital, complete the required courses, select ILMUchat Pro on their dashboard, and log in using MyDigital ID to activate the three-month free access.
