When presenting the Budget 2027, themed "Reaching for the Skies, While Anchored on Our Values," Prime Minister Anwar announced that the allocation for religious affairs had risen from RM2.6 billion to RM3.1 billion. The budget also includes a special incentive of RM150 a month for 500 teachers of Religious and Fardu Ain Classes (KAFA) who work with special needs students, employing methods such as sign language and the Braille Quran.
Additionally, Anwar, who also serves as Finance Minister, stated that Lembaga Tabung Haji would fully cover Social Security Organisation (Socso) contributions for all 40,000 imams, bilal, tok siak, noja, marbut, and takmir teachers.
