Kuala Lumpur:Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will hold a special meeting tonight with assemblymen from the parties forming the Negeri Sembilan government to address the ongoing political crisis in the state.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the meeting at Menara Dato' Onn will include assemblymen from BN, PAS, and Parti Wawasan Negara. Ahmad Zahid aims to coordinate efforts and identify the best solutions in line with the state constitution and customary laws.

Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister, emphasized the importance of prioritizing the people's interests and adhering to the rules of the state legislative assembly, as well as the constitution and customary laws of Negeri Sembilan.

The UMNO president has given a full mandate to Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim to explore all possible solutions, including discussions with the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, the Undang Yang Empat, and Tunku Besar Tampin, along with other leaders in the customary hierarchy.

In response to suggestions of declaring a political emergency, Ahmad Zahid stated that such measures are unnecessary as the security and public order in the state remain stable and there have been no disturbances affecting peace and security in Negeri Sembilan.
