YSIJ Donates New Homes To Families Affected By Mersing Fire.

KUALA LUMPUR: Two families in Kampung Wak Salam, Mersing, Johor, who lost their homes in a fire in August, today received new homes built by Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim Johor (YSIJ).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, announced in a Facebook post that the YSIJ house presentation ceremony was officiated by the Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail. The two recipients of the aid are Azali Osman and Suzana Zainal Abidin.

Also present at the ceremony were YSIJ trustee Datuk Avinderjit Singh Harjit Singh and Mersing district officer Jamil Hasni Abdullah. The same post also announced that YSIJ had distributed food aid boxes to 180 families affected by the Northeast Monsoon in the islands of Mersing district.

Other contributors to the aid effort included the Mersing District Office, the Johor Islamic Religious Council, the Department of Social Welfare, and JCorp Foundation.
