Youths, University Students Invited to Join MAHA 2026 Frontline Crew

Serdang: Youths and university students are being invited to join the frontline team for the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture, and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2026 as special event crew members. The exhibition is set to take place at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) from August 28 to September 6.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MardiCorp Chief Operating Officer Hazwan Hussein announced that interested candidates can apply by scanning the quick response (QR) code available on MAHA 2026 and MAEPS's official social media platforms. The application window is open until the end of July, after which selected candidates will undergo screening and interviews.

Hazwan highlighted that applicants must be at least 18 years old and possess certain qualifications such as experience in event organisation and relevant skills. Initial recruitment aims to secure between 200 and 300 crew members, with potential expansion to 500 based on operational needs.

Selected individuals will be assigned to roles including event management, visitor services, security, and operations, depending on their skills and experience. Hazwan emphasized the significance of these crew members as they will represent the face of MAHA 2026, directly interacting with both local and international visitors.

The opportunity offers participants hands-on experience in managing large-scale events, professional networking, and skill enhancement in event management, agriculture, and commercial sectors. Successful candidates will be officially notified in early August and will attend briefing sessions on their roles, event layout, and visitor management.

The service period for the crew spans approximately two weeks, covering pre-event preparations, the event duration, and post-event site breakdown. Crew members will receive an allowance and provisions for food and drinks during their service.

Participation is open to Malaysians nationwide, with logistical advantages for candidates based in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. However, this does not affect the chances of applicants from other regions, including Sabah and Sarawak.

The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, previously stated that MAHA 2026 aims for an attendance of 4 million visitors and potential investment values of RM8 billion through various initiatives. MAHA 2024 recorded 81 Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) and Agreements (MoA) with a total investment value of RM7.2 billion.
