Youth Urged to Strengthen Character and Leadership for Malaysia’s Future

Sendayan: Youth have been urged to continue strengthening their identity, leadership, and spirit of struggle to ensure the country's future remains on the right track in line with the Malaysia MADANI aspirations. Youth and Sports Minister Dr. Mohammed Taufiq Johari emphasized that youth development should not focus solely on programmes but should also prioritize character building, leadership skills, and readiness to face future challenges.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the theme of National Youth Day 2026, Menggerak Belia MADANI (Mobilising MADANI Youth), highlights the strategic role of young people as the future generation of leaders who will shape Malaysia's economic, social, and political landscape. Dr. Johari stressed the importance of youth preparing themselves to become future leaders capable of shaping the country's economic and leadership landscape. He noted the encouragement from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, expressing confidence that Malaysia will remain on the right track.

At the National Youth Day opening ceremony at d'Tempat Sendayan, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim launched the Malaysia Youth Action Plan 2035. Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun was also present. Dr. Johari announced that the ministry will introduce new branding, Rakan Muda MADANI, to keep its programmes relevant, and will continue to strengthen leadership development and youth empowerment programmes to equip the country's youth with strong skills and leadership values.

Aminuddin affirmed the state government's commitment to supporting young people in education, sports, technology, entrepreneurship, and leadership. He stressed the goal of producing young people who are not only job seekers but also capable of creating job opportunities for others. He remarked on the rapid changes in the world and the importance of young people mastering knowledge, technology, and new skills to lead the country into the future. Aminuddin aspired for the National Youth Day celebration to inspire all young people to make a difference.

Port Dickson MP highlighted that history has shown many major global changes driven by the courage of young people who believed in their dreams. He encouraged youth to utilize their time to learn, build experience, and create something beneficial for society and the nation.
