Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YAPEIM) has invested RM17.02 million through its Sinar Lestari Programme towards the development and refurbishment of 374 homes across Malaysia from 2020 to March this year. This initiative includes both new constructions and repair projects aimed at improving housing conditions nationwide.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), Dr. Zulkifli Hasan, reported that the projects encompass 228 repair works and 146 new houses. Out of these, 268 projects have reached completion, while 106 remain under construction. This effort is part of a larger commitment by YAPEIM, which has allocated over RM753 million from 1985 to December 2025, impacting more than 10.1 million recipients across the country.
Additionally, Dr. Zulkifli recently handed over a newly constructed house to Mohd Kamal Yaakob, an asnaf recipient, in Jerteh, Terengganu. This act highlights YAPEIM's ongoing dedication to supporting disadvantaged communities by providing essential housing solutions.
