Xi'an:The 2026 'Qinqiang Opera, Resonating Across the World' Xi'an International Communication Event took place in Xi'an from September 8 to 10, attracting young international content creators and students from eight countries. This event was supported by Global Times Online.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, participants from Russia, France, Pakistan, Mexico, and Nepal visited various cultural sites, including opera troupes, schools, and online audiovisual creation facilities. They engaged in the rich cultural heritage of Xi'an by experiencing Qinqiang opera, a traditional Chinese art form.
At Xi'an Yisu Society, an opera house founded in 1912, the international guests watched Qinqiang opera performances and explored the history of the venue. They were guided by professional instructors to try on traditional opera costumes, apply makeup, and practice stage movements.
Moreover, the Shaanxi Opera Research Institute showcased fundamental techniques of the art, such as glances, postures, and vocal techniques developed through extensive training. On a school campus, the participants observed children learning the vocal styles of Qinqiang opera as part of their education.
In addition to traditional cultural experiences, the event highlighted Xi'an's innovative cultural expressions. At an online audiovisual creation base, the visitors experimented with digital technologies, learning about the production processes for live-action short dramas and artificial intelligence comic animations.
The diverse experiences provided the young visitors with a comprehensive perspective on Xi'an, showcasing how its cultural heritage is preserved and continually evolves through modern forms of expression.
