Woman Killed, Two More Die After Kuala Krai Accident

Kuala krai: A woman was killed while five others, including two boys, were injured in an accident involving a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) and a car near a Caltex petrol station in Laloh here this morning. Kuala Krai Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) chief Nik Ahmad Afsham Nik Pa stated that the victim, Safinaz Razmi, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene by Ministry of Health (MOH) personnel.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the emergency services received a call at 7.18 am and arrived at the scene 26 minutes later, covering a distance of 30.2 kilometers. The accident involved a Toyota Alphard MPV and a Perodua Bezza car. The deceased was in the Perodua Bezza, and her body was handed over to the police for further action.

The fire department reported that the injured victims, including three from the Perodua Bezza and two boys from the Toyota Alphard, were transported to Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital, Kuala Krai for treatment.

Kuala Krai district deputy police chief DSP Mohd Maizan Mustaffa confirmed that two other victims, Safinaz's child and grandchild, died while receiving treatment in the red zone of the Emergency Unit at Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital this afternoon. The victims were identified as Jasmin Lyana Mohd Jamil, 22, and one-year-old Nur Nuha Helena Abdul Matiin.

Further investigations are ongoing, and authorities are urging witnesses to come forward with any information regarding the accident by contacting the Kuala Krai district police headquarters at 09-9666222.
