Kuala lumpur: The Foreign Ministry has not yet received any official application from the United States concerning the nomination of Nick Adams as the new US Ambassador to Malaysia. Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan stated that any updates on this matter would be presented to the Cabinet for consideration before a decision is reached.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamad Hasan addressed the issue during a question and answer session at the Dewan Rakyat, in response to a query by Abdul Latiff Abdul Rahman (PN-Kuala Krai) about the potential nomination. He emphasized that Wisma Putra would provide its views and considerations, which would then be discussed by the Cabinet.
Reports from international media suggested that US President Donald Trump had put forward Nick Adams, a conservative commentator originally from Australia and now a US citizen, for the ambassadorial role. Despite these reports, Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil mentioned that the Cabinet had not yet received any memorandum from Wisma Putra about the appointment.
