Ipoh: The West Ipoh Span Expressway (WISE) project has entered the implementation phase following the completion of its RM5.55 billion sukuk financing, Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said. He stated that the project had reached the final stage of securing financing, allowing land acquisition works to commence.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the WISE management confirmed that the project is being carried out through a Private Finance Initiative (PFI). With the funding secured, the initial steps related to land acquisition have begun. Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad shared these updates with reporters, emphasizing that progress is underway.

The 60-kilometre WISE is designed to be a dual three-lane carriageway, beginning in Gopeng and traversing through areas such as Batu Gajah, Siputeh, Manong, Tronoh, Beko, and Seri Iskandar before reaching its endpoint in Kuala Kangsar. The highway aims to provide motorists with an alternative route that circumvents the Menora Tunnel, enhancing travel efficiency and connectivity in the region.
