Butterworth: The Seberang Perai Utara (SPU) Social Welfare Department (JKM) is actively searching for the biological mother and relatives of a three-month-old baby girl who was discovered in Sungai Dua last year on November 13.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, SPU assistant social welfare officer Norizzati Rosli reported that the infant, with her umbilical cord still attached, was found abandoned in a toilet outside a house. She was promptly taken to Seberang Jaya Hospital for necessary medical treatment. An exemption under Section 15(3) of the Child Act 2001 has been approved to facilitate media publication of the case.
Authorities urge anyone with information about the baby's biological parents to contact the Seberang Perai Utara district child protector, Norizzati, at 04-575 8715 or via email at [email protected].
