Davos: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to deliver a keynote address at the High-Level Public Session: ASEAN Plenary in conjunction with the 2025 World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, tonight.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the keynote address, titled ASEAN – Even Stronger Together, will be broadcast live via Bernama’s Facebook, RTM, and Astro Awani at 9 pm. The Prime Minister mentioned on his social media that he plans to discuss the priorities of Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship this year and ASEAN’s significant role in shaping the global economic landscape.

Anwar is currently on a three-day working visit to Switzerland to attend the WEF 2025. This marks his first participation in the forum since he became prime minister in November 2022.

Malaysia officially assumed the role of ASEAN Chair on January 1, with the theme ‘Inclusivity and Sustainability’, which reflects the country’s aspirations to create a united and prosperous ASEAN. This is the fifth time Malaysia has held the ASEAN Chairmanship as a member of the regional bloc, having previously chaired it in 1977, 1997, 2005, and 2015.
