Vivax-Metrotech Unveils RM48 Million Manufacturing Facility in Penang


Penang: Vivax-Metrotech Corporation (VXMT), a leader in utility locating and inspection technologies, has unveiled a new RM48 million manufacturing facility in Penang, creating 175 high-skilled jobs.



According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) revealed that the facility is equipped with 16 assembly production lines and specialised clean room operations, allowing the company to produce a range of precision technologies for telecommunications, water, gas, and electrical utilities.



MIDA’s chief executive officer, Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid, stated that this expansion strengthens VXMT’s global supply chain and bolsters its presence in Southeast Asia. He noted that the investment aligns with Malaysia’s high-tech manufacturing goals under the 13th Malaysia Plan and the New Industrial Master Plan 2030.



MIDA expressed its commitment to facilitating VXMT’s growth in Malaysia, providing the necessary support to expand their operations and contribute to the country’s industrial development.



VXMT CEO and chairman, Christian Stolz, highlighted Malaysia’s attractiveness as a destination for expansion in Southeast Asia. He cited Malaysia’s track record in attracting leading high-tech companies, its talent pool, commitment to quality, and strategic location as key factors in the decision to expand manufacturing operations in the region.
