Kuala lumpur: Malaysia’s palm oil exports experienced a growth of 3.82 percent month-on-month to reach 1.30 million tonnes in July, up from 1.26 million tonnes in June. The Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) revealed these figures in its latest monthly release of the Performance of the Malaysian Palm Oil Industry, July 2025 report.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the country’s crude palm oil (CPO) production also saw an increase, rising by 7.09 percent to 1.81 million tonnes in July, compared to 1.69 million tonnes in the previous month. The palm kernel output also saw a rise of 8.75 percent month-on-month, reaching 431,615 tonnes from June’s 396,879 tonnes.
The report further detailed that crude palm kernel oil production advanced by 13.27 percent month-on-month to 218,239 tonnes, up from 192,665 tonnes in June. Palm kernel cake production expanded by 11.77 percent month-on-month to 238,511 tonnes, compared to 213,398 tonnes previously.
On the inventory front, the MPOB indicated a 2.02 percent drop in the CPO stockpile, which stood at 1.02 million tonnes in July compared to 1.04 million tonnes in June. However, processed palm oil stocks saw an increase of 10.38 percent month-on-month, amounting to 1.09 million tonnes from the previous 988,779 tonnes, raising the total palm oil inventories by 4.02 percent to 2.11 million tonnes from June’s 2.03 million tonnes.
Additionally, palm kernel oil exports surged by 3.70 percent to 90,028 tonnes from June’s 86,814 tonnes, while palm kernel cake exports saw a significant rise of 33.97 percent month-on-month, reaching 254,239 tonnes from 189,774 tonnes. Oleochemical exports increased by 22.27 percent month-on-month to 248,923 tonnes from 203,590 tonnes, and biodiesel exports remarkably jumped 1,662.25 percent to 49,195 tonnes month-on-month from 2,792 tonnes.
The report also noted that CPO imports in July were at 7,816 tonnes, contrasting with none in June. Total palm kernel oil imports increased by 105.57 percent month-on-month to 24,516 tonnes from June’s 11,926 tonnes.
