UTHM Student Killed in Road Accident; Investigation Underway

Muar: A Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) student was tragically killed following a car accident along Jalan Felda Moakil while he was traveling with four friends back to the Pagoh Campus from Labis, Segamat.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Muar district police chief ACP Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz reported that the incident occurred around 1.00 pm when the Honda Accord carrying the students lost control and skidded to the left side of the road. Mohd Amir Faizal Hasrolnizam, 21, who was positioned in the rear passenger seat, sustained fatal head injuries and was declared dead at the scene.

Another student, Dameer Amir Mokhzani Aris, also 21, suffered serious injuries, while three other passengers, Ameer Ikhwan Ahmad Nurul Lail, Muhammad Aiman Musa, and Muhammad Hakimi Hisyamuddin, all aged 21, incurred minor injuries and are currently receiving medical care at Segamat Hospital.

The body of Mohd Amir Faizal has been sent to Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Authorities are investigating the crash under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. In the wake of the accident, the UTHM Student Representative Council (MPP) expressed condolences for the loss of the second-year Electrical and Electronic Engineering student.
