USNO Withdraws from GRS Alliance – Pandikar Amin Confirms

Kota kinabalu: The United Sabah National Organisation (USNO) officially announced its withdrawal from the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition today. The confirmation came from USNO president Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia, who affirmed the decision with a simple "true" when contacted by Bernama, offering no further comment.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the announcement followed a post titled "Final Farewell: USNO Says Farewell to GRS" on the USNO News Facebook page, suggesting the party's definitive decision to part ways. The statement also revealed Pandikar Amin's resignation as the deputy chairman of GRS, a decision communicated to GRS chairman and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor during a meeting held yesterday.

The USNO Supreme Executive Council (AMET) Meeting on April 22 unanimously accepted the decision to leave the GRS coalition. Key reasons cited for the withdrawal include a lack of compatibility in government administration and policy perspectives, particularly after the 17th Sabah Legislative Assembly Election.

Following its withdrawal, USNO emphasized its commitment to representing the interests of local Sabah indigenous people and maintaining its role in providing checks and balances on government administration. The party reiterated its dedication to advocating for the aspirations of marginalized communities while expressing gratitude to Hajiji and GRS partners for their previous cooperation.

With USNO's exit, GRS now consists of Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat), Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah (PHRS), Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS), and the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).
