Mexico city: Univar Solutions M©xico, a subsidiary of Univar Solutions LLC, has entered into a distribution agreement with LANXESS, a speciality chemicals company, to distribute lubricant and metalworking fluid additives across Mexico.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the agreement includes LANXESS' range of detergents, corrosion inhibitors, antiwear additives, sulphur-based extreme-pressure additives, antioxidants, yellow metal inhibitors, and additive packages. Jorge Buckup, the president of Univar Solutions Latin America, stated that this partnership would enhance the company's speciality chemicals portfolio and expand its ability to provide solutions to customers within Mexico's lubricant and metalworking fluid sectors.

Buckup expressed confidence in the collaboration, emphasizing the combination of LANXESS's additive technologies with Univar Solutions' extensive global distribution network and strong local presence. He noted that this synergy positions the company to offer high-performance solutions to its customers.

Univar Solutions highlighted that its Ingredients + Specialties division is already involved in providing chemicals for metalworking fluids, coolants, industrial lubricants, and greases, sourcing base stocks and performance additives from various suppliers.

On the other side, Rafael H. Nicolas, head of sales for LANXESS's lubricant additives business in Latin America, remarked that the partnership would improve the company's support for speciality customers in Mexico and boost its service capabilities.

Additionally, customers and suppliers in Mexico will gain access to Univar Solutions' Solution Centers, including a key regional facility in Mexico City, where technical teams work on developing formulation solutions and offer product development and supply chain support. Univar Solutions believes this agreement will assist customers in meeting evolving performance and regulatory demands in lubricant and metalworking fluid applications.
